Sunrise Services Distributing, LLC and "You Can Do It! ART" are represented here
with a sunrise theme, enjoying the fresh start each beautiful sunrise offers the world. We love
to help others sense the wonder of creation, and encourage the desire for creativity and unique
expression that dwells within. For this the art lesson series "You Can Do It! ART" was
created. We desire to help children and adults to enjoy the satisfying and therapeutic
effects of painting with watercolors. The lessons are designed to encourage students of all
ages to experience the fun and excitement of producing something that is unique to their own
experiences and impressions.
Marilee Donivan is an award-winning teacher and artist. She has received national recognition
for her dedicated and creative teaching of children. (Click to see awards) Her watercolors and
oil paintings hang in professional buildings and private collections across the country.
Marilee began as an elementary teacher and delighted in her students' love of learning and
enthusiastic approach to art. She observed first-hand the proof of the research which shows the
arts positively affect students' learning in all subjects. Although now retired from public school
teaching, she has continued to paint, and is teaching painting to children and adults through
private lessons and as a volunteer at her granddaughter's school.
With a keen interest in homeschoolers, Marilee was concerned about the limited number of
hands-on fine art instruction materials to help homeschooling families. She created the
"You Can Do It! ART" series to help fill this need, and began with watercolor painting for the
first series of DVD lessons offered. Acknowledging the National Arts Standards, we strongly
encourage integration of the arts into public school and home school curriculum.
In addition, Marilee has a heart to help physically-challenged adults and children
discover new, stimulating experiences through watercolor painting. Freedom of
expression through art, creating beautiful colors and effects, promotes positive feelings and
ways of relating to our changing worlds and physical challenges. Art therapy is a growing field,
one that can bloom in one's own home! "You Can Do It! ART" is offered as a personal
approach to refocusing and discovering positive outlets for emotions through creative art. The
"You Can Do It! ART" watercolor lessons are being used in assisted living and
rehab facilities and are contributing to residents' sense of well-being and
accomplishment as they take pride in their artistic creations (some for the first time
ever!) and express themselves in new ways.
Marilee has a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northwest
Nazarene University, is certified by the Center for Biblical Counseling, and is a member of
the American Art Therapy Association.
Our vision is to help learners of all ages to discover their own creativity; become confident in
their own uniqueness; and most of all, enjoy expressing themselves through artful colors, lines,
and compositions.
Our goal is to help enrich life experiences through creative art, by providing pertinent
information, exciting art instruction, and easily attainable art supplies. We strive to save busy
